Guidelines for Contributors of Oral & Poster Presentations
ORAL PRESENTATIONS Data projection (powerpoint) presentations should easily be read at some distance from the screen. Slide orientation should be landscape whenever possible and the frame should not be overcrowded with information.
FACILITIES
Data Projection (Powerpoint)
This will normally be available but occasionally there are problems with compatibility between the system and the presentation. To avoid disappointment, please comply with the following:
- Powerpoint presentations - PC version - should be brought on a USB memory stick or a CD rom.
- Powerpoint presentations - Mac version - can only be accepted if speakers bring their own
laptop and connecting cables.
- Your presentation is given to the venue a/v support staff in plenty of time for them to check compatibility with the equipment available.
Light pointer - to enable speakers to point to the screen during their presentation
Microphone - to enable speakers to be heard throughout the lecture theatre
Please ensure that:
- prior to the event, the SGM Conferences and Events Manager is informed of your a/v requirements
- at the meeting, you contact the venue a/v support staff in plenty of time to allow them to set up your presentation.

- Size of display: 90cm x 90cm - your poster should not exceed these measurements.
- Velcro /
pins will be available.
- Please see the programme booklet for your number, location & viewing time, and for setting up and taking down times - kindly note that the Society cannot forward any posters not collected.
